What we collect, why, how long we keep it, and how to ask us to change or delete it. In plain language.

No accounts
There are no logins, no newsletter sign-up on this site, and nothing for sale. We never sell or rent personal data.
Light analytics
Google Analytics tells us which pages and episodes people use. Podcast downloads are counted from server logs.
Public posts only
Joanna, our news monitor, reads public posts on X and Bluesky to spot AI news. She does not read private messages.
Ask us anything
Email hello@dailyaibyai.news to see, correct or delete your data, or to object to how we use it.
1. Who we are
Daily AI by AI is a personal, non-commercial project run by Nir Sagiv in Israel. It publishes an AI-generated news podcast and this website at dailyaibyai.news. Nir is the "controller" of the personal data described here (in Israeli law, the "database owner").
Questions or requests about privacy: hello@dailyaibyai.news.
2. What we collect
When you visit this website
We use Google Analytics 4 to understand how the site is used. If you are in the EU, EEA, UK or Switzerland, analytics cookies are only set after you accept them in the cookie banner; elsewhere they are on by default and you can turn them off from "Cookie Settings" in the footer. Without consent, Google Analytics sets no cookies and receives only basic, cookieless signals that cannot identify returning visitors. With analytics on, it sets cookies (listed in section 8) and records information such as your browser and device type, approximate location (country and city, derived by Google from your IP address), and these actions:
- pages you view, and the page that referred you
- episode playback on this site: play, pause, seek and finish, with the episode and position in it
- clicks on subscribe buttons (Spotify, Apple Podcasts, YouTube, RSS), share buttons, social links and episode links
- how you use the Pulse explorer (filters, the topics and episodes you open)
- whether the subscription pop-up or the “Follow on X” prompt was shown, dismissed or used
- clicks on the listener survey link
We see this only as aggregated reports. We don't send Google your name or email address, and we have no way to link the reports to you. Google states that Google Analytics 4 does not log or store IP addresses. Google signals and ad personalization are turned off, and the site runs no ads.
Our fonts and images are served from our own domain, so loading a page does not contact other services besides Google Analytics and our own hosting.
When you download or stream an episode
Episodes and the RSS feed are delivered from static.dailyaibyai.news through Amazon CloudFront, whether you listen here or in a podcast app that uses our feed. Like any web server, CloudFront logs each request: your IP address, the time, the file requested, your app or browser (user agent) and the country it came from.
We use these logs only to count downloads and listeners in line with podcast industry measurement guidelines. Known bots are filtered out, and we turn the logs into daily summaries: counts by episode, country, app and device type, plus a statistical "unique listener" estimate built from one-way hashes. The summaries contain no IP addresses.
If you listen on Spotify, Apple Podcasts or YouTube, those services deliver the audio and their own privacy policies apply. They give us only aggregated statistics.
When you email us
Mail sent to an @dailyaibyai.news address is received by Amazon SES, briefly stored in AWS, and forwarded to the owner's personal mailbox. We get whatever you choose to send: your email address, name, message and attachments. We use it only to read and reply to you.
What we don't do
There are no user accounts, no comments, no newsletter sign-up form and no payments on this site. We don't run ads, we don't use advertising cookies, and we never sell or rent personal data.
The share buttons are plain links. Nothing is sent to X, LinkedIn or Facebook unless you click one. The listener survey is a Google Form, so answers you give there go to Google Forms, under Google's privacy policy.
3. Public social posts Joanna reads
Joanna is our automated news monitor. Once a day she reads public posts on X and Bluesky through the platforms' official APIs, looking for AI news and expert commentary. AI models rank the posts, and the strongest few insights go into an internal briefing with links to their sources.
Every insight is fact-checked before it can be used. If it's used on air, the episode may name or quote the public source, such as the person or organization who posted it.
What this involves: the post text, its public engagement numbers, and the author's public username, display name and follower count, as returned by the platform. Joanna does not read private accounts, direct messages or anything behind a login wall, and she does not build profiles of people.
Why: to find news worth covering and to credit sources accurately. Our legal basis is our legitimate interest in news reporting and commentary, using information the author chose to make public.
How long: the raw set of posts collected each day is deleted automatically after 14 days. Published episodes stay online as part of our archive.
Want out? Email hello@dailyaibyai.news with a link to your profile or post, and we'll remove your posts from anything we still hold and exclude your account from future monitoring. Published episodes are a journalistic record, but we'll review requests to correct or remove a mention in good faith.
4. How we use data
- Analytics and download logs: to see what people listen to, fix problems and improve the show. Legal basis: our legitimate interest in running and improving the service.
- Emails: to answer you. Legal basis: our legitimate interest in corresponding with you, or steps you asked us to take.
- Public posts: to find and attribute news, as described above.
We do not use any of this data for advertising, profiling or automated decisions that affect you. We don't feed website visitor or listener data into AI models.
5. Service providers and international transfers
We rely on these providers to run the show. They process data on our behalf or, in the case of Google Analytics, under their own terms:
| Provider | What for | Where |
|---|---|---|
| Amazon Web Services | Hosting for the website, the audio and RSS feed, email handling, storage and the production pipeline. | EU: Frankfurt (Germany) and Ireland |
| Google Analytics | Website analytics, using the cookies listed below. | United States and other Google locations |
| Google (email) | Hosts the owner’s mailbox, where messages to our addresses are delivered. | United States and other Google locations |
| Anthropic, Google (Gemini) and OpenAI | AI models that select, write, fact-check and illustrate episodes. They receive public news content and public social posts, not data about our website visitors or listeners. | United States |
| X and Bluesky | We read public posts through their official APIs. | United States |
| GitHub | Stores our code and builds the website. It does not receive visitor data. | United States |
Our own systems run in the EU (Germany and Ireland). Some providers are based in the United States, so data may be transferred there. Where the GDPR applies, those transfers rely on the providers' safeguards, such as the EU–US Data Privacy Framework or the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses. Israel and the EU recognize each other as providing adequate protection.
6. How long we keep data
- Google Analytics: event data is kept for 2 months (the Google Analytics default), then deleted by Google. Aggregated reports may be kept longer.
- Podcast download logs: raw logs (with IP addresses) are used only to produce download statistics. The daily summaries hold no IP addresses and are kept for long-term statistics.
- Emails: used only to read and reply to your message, and kept as long as needed for that.
- Public social posts: 14 days for the raw daily collection, as set out in section 3.
- Your browser: the local storage entries in section 8 stay until you clear them.
7. Your rights
Under Israel's Privacy Protection Law (as amended, including Amendment 13), you can ask to see the personal data we hold about you and ask us to correct or delete it if it's wrong, incomplete, unclear or out of date.
If you're in the EU, the EEA or the UK, the GDPR (or UK GDPR) also gives you the right to:
- access your data and get a copy of it
- correct it
- have it deleted
- restrict how we use it
- object to uses based on our legitimate interests, including analytics and Joanna's monitoring
- data portability, where it applies
To use any of these rights, email hello@dailyaibyai.news. Tell us what you're asking for and give us something to find your data by, such as the address you emailed from or your social media handle. We may ask you to confirm your identity. We answer within 30 days and don't charge for it.
We hold very little that identifies you. Analytics is pseudonymous and download logs contain only IP addresses, so we may be unable to match those records to you. We will tell you if that's the case.
If you're unhappy with our answer, you can complain to Israel's Privacy Protection Authority or, in the EU/UK, to your local data protection authority.
9. Children
Daily AI by AI is a general-audience news show and is not aimed at children under 16. We don't knowingly collect personal data from children. If you think a child has sent us personal data, email hello@dailyaibyai.news and we'll delete it.
10. Security
We keep data with established cloud providers, encrypt it in transit and at rest, limit access to the owner, and keep only what we need. No system is perfectly secure. If a breach affects your personal data, we will notify you and the authorities as the law requires.
11. Changes to this policy
If our practices change, we'll update this page and its "Last updated" date. For significant changes, we'll also post a clear notice on the site.
Questions? Email hello@dailyaibyai.news, or read more about the show.
